In a courtyard in central Paris, there is a 70m² plant wall and 30m² exposed Butong panels and we are of course proud to have been chosen in competition with all domestic solutions available. The project shows Butong’s strength in enabling concept solutions.
At the external stairwell, there are requirements for evacuation dimensions and the placement of a wheelchair in the event of a fire – therefore the depth of the system needed to be limited right there. Because the Butong panels look good even without plants, a monolithic, conceptually strong architecture could be achieved.
The first planting took place in almost 40 degree heat – which was too hot and we have had to do a couple of support plantings since the assembly in 2018.
We are now looking forward to an exciting 2020 where we expect a fireworks display of vegetation and flowering – with hundreds of Sage that will smell fantastic.
