The lack of insects in urban environments is not only an environmental threat. In turn it raises cost for municipalities as plants are not being pollinized and must be re-planted yearly. Our panels give habitat to various insects, spiders and crawlers that greatly reduce maintenance. Birds that feed on insects will also benefit from your vertical garden.

Our patent pending process greatly reduces the use of cement for making concrete panels. Our flat panels’ uses about 80% less concrete compared with solid concrete panels of the same strength, due to the 3D-structure of the material. This in turn generates a huge saving in C0 2 emissions.

All concrete can break down harmful Nitrogen Oxides by addition of Titanium Dioxide. Butong is approximately three times as efficient in this catalytic process compared with flat panels. Furthermore, if you want to illustrate an air-filtering property, choose a product that illustrates this aspect. With Butong, it is continuously being told to the viewer and will give life to the story.
Nitrogen Oxides are some of the most dangerous pollutants from cars, causing lung-problems and premature death. A NOx product transforms these Oxides to crystalline form on the surface of the material and is later washed away by rain. The process is catalytic and continuous under the influence of UV and heat – sunlight.
Producing Titanium Dioxide results in much CO² and it should not be used unless needed and the effect/unit is great. Butong has much more surface than solid panels and the Titanium ends up where it is needed.
